Donna R Brown is a New Jersey based artist. She received an Associate’s Degree from Brookdale Community College, a Bachelor’s Degree from Douglass College of Rutgers, the State University of New Jersey and a Master’s Degree from California Institute of the Arts. She's a multimedia artist; whose mediums include and are not limited to Photography, Printmaking, Papermaking, Painting, Performance Art, and Video Chronicles. Her curatorial work began in 2010 with the Show: “Her Supreme Royal Highness of All That is Black and Beautiful.” She has taught numerous workshops at Colleges, High Schools, Private Schools for children with special needs such as Autism and collaborative projects with American, South African, Ghanaian and Nigeria Artist. Her work is in private collections throughout the United States, Australia, Ghana, and South Africa. Her art related professional experience includes work as an archivist, preparatory, collaborator, teacher and curator. Her current bodies of works include writings based on her history, a series of photographs dealing with weight, race and social stigma, Performances with the group, "La Famiglia" and series of video shorts called, "This Can't Be Happening! But It Is!" She has spent the last year packing, unpacking and repacking her personal possessions. She will spend the next couple of years working with Artist who are dealing with loss. This project is called “52 Weeks of Grief!”
